Job Description — Software Engineering Lead
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Work Mode: Hybrid
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Lead to drive end-to-end development of a high-visibility, enterprise-grade application. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, and the ability to design scalable, resilient systems while partnering closely with business and product stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design and development of enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot
Drive architecture decisions aligned with long-term technical roadmap
Establish and enforce engineering best practices, code quality, and design standards
Architect cloud-native solutions on AWS ensuring scalability, performance, security, and reliability
Collaborate with DevOps/SRE on CI/CD, automation, and cloud infrastructure
Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Partner with product and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
Own non-functional requirements including performance, security, resiliency, and compliance
Required Qualifications
10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a technical leadership role
Expert-level experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs
Strong hands-on experience designing and guiding AWS cloud-native architectures
Deep understanding of microservices and distributed systems
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
AWS certifications
Experience with observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry)
Front-end exposure (React or Angular)
Experience with application security and vulnerability remediation
