About Us

Privalgo was founded in 2018 with a bold vision: to disrupt the international payments and FX sector with innovative solutions tailored for ambitious businesses.

Our founders, with decades of experience in the industry, envisioned a world where global money movement is more than just international transactions but seamless, transparent experiences that propel businesses forward.

What began as a small team of passionate innovators has grown into an over 80-person scaleup with a global footprint.

Today, we process over 100,000 payments a month and over £3bn annually for our clients. Our growth is a testament to our clients’ trust in our vision.

Being an Infrastructure Engineer at Privalgo

We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-paced team within the rapidly evolving Financial Technology (FinTech) Payment Service Provider (PSP) sector.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions using Microsoft Azure and associated platform services.

Key Objectives

Azure Infrastructure Design & Implementation:

Architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure using Microsoft Azure services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all environments (development, staging, production).

Platform Services Management:

Utilise and optimise Azure platform services such as Azure Active Directory, Azure Key Vault, Azure SQL Database, Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Logic Apps to support PSP operations.

Automation & CI/CD:

Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Bicep, or Terraform. Integrate infrastructure provisioning with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

Security & Compliance:

Implement and uphold robust security controls, network segmentation, and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS) relevant to the payments industry. Manage identity and access policies, encryption, and data protection.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights. Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues to minimise downtime and support incident response.

Cost Optimisation:

Monitor and analyse Azure resource consumption, making recommendations for cost-saving and efficiency improvements without compromising performance or security.

Collaboration:

Work closely with software engineers, DevOps, security, and compliance teams to support ongoing projects, new feature rollouts, and regulatory audits.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:

Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure designs, processes, and configurations. Share knowledge with team members and provide training where appropriate.

You

Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role within a FinTech, payments, or highly regulated environment.
Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, including core services (compute, storage, networking) and advanced platform services.
Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
Solid understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and identity management in cloud environments.
Experience with CI/CD tools and integrating infrastructure workflows into software development pipelines.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the PSP space, such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Desirable Qualifications

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
Experience with containerisation and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes/AKS).
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
Background in the financial services or payments sector.
