This is a contract opportunity with a great organization. As a contractor for Smith Johnson, you are eligible for medical, dental, life, disability. Smith Johnson pays for 70% of your medical and dental and 100% of life and disability. The contract is also eligible for PTO/holiday accrued monthly. SUMMARY
Working on a dedicated Software Applications Development Team producing mission-critical software for State Agencies, and using the latest industry leading Agile development methodologies. The person will be a key contributor on software application development and maintenance projects.
This position is a Java-based, Web Applications Developer that belongs to an Agile DevOps Team(s) and performs all Developer roles on large, complex system functions and products.
This position requires advanced knowledge, skills and abilities of application coding, technical environments, development tools and typical application development processes. The environment is a JAVA-based web platform. There is special consideration for a developer with training and/or experience in the emerging VIBE Coding rapid development methodology.

Direct experience employed as a programmer developing and maintaining computer software applications and programs using Web languages, tools and technologies, including: Java 11 &
21, Spring / Spring Boot 2.6 and 3, Spring JDBC HTML, CSS3, SASS, Angular, PWAs, JPA, JavaScript / TypeScript, REST APIs and distributed architecture patterns.
Useful skills and technologies for maintenance of older applications: Java 8, Struts (1 & 2),
Hibernate 3 / JPA, jQuery, jQuery Data Tables 1.8-1.12, Subversion, Ant
Experience with Figma Material Design to Angular code conversion a plus.
Direct participation as a principal web developer on projects building or maintaining mission-critical applications for medium to large size private or public organizations (i.e 1,000 or more employees).
Experience with Informix databases, Postgres Database, SQL databases, other relational databases, Business Intelligence tools and applications, development for mobile devices, and/or other emerging technologies.
Training and experience with development methods and approaches to application security.
Training and development using the new Vibe Coding rapid development methodology.
Direct experience as a web developer on systems operational within the criminal justice field (e.g. Courts, Public Safety, Local Law Enforcement, Corrections, Parole Boards, Criminal Justice Commissions, etc.)
Certifications and qualifications in the computer science field.
