About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled frontend engineer who doesn't just write code—but architects elegant solutions. You have immense hands-on experience with React and HTMX, and you understand when to use each for maximum impact. You're proficient with modern AI coding tools and use them strategically to enhance your productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality and security. You take pride in crafting performant, accessible user experiences and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. You're curious, adaptable, and excited about staying at the forefront of frontend innovation while maintaining strong fundamentals in core web technologies.

As a Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing user-facing features of our web applications. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences that delight our customers. Your technical expertise in React and HTMX, combined with proficiency in AI coding tools, will enable you to write efficient, maintainable code at scale while staying at the forefront of frontend development practices.

Location

This position is fully remote with the expectation to travel quarterly to our office in New Haven, CT. We do not provide work visa sponsorship. This position is only open to candidates who are legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Technical Skill Requirements

Advanced proficiency in React.js, including hooks, context API, state management (Redux, Zustand, or similar), and modern React patterns
Strong expertise in HTMX, including dynamic content loading, form handling, and server-driven UI interactions
Mastery of core web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
Proficiency with TypeScript for type-safe, maintainable code
Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and AI-assisted development workflows (mandatory)
Deep understanding of responsive design principles, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first development
Solid knowledge of version control systems, specifically Git, with collaborative workflows
Familiarity with build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, or similar)
Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, or Cypress)
Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, including profiling, code splitting, and caching strategies
Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and ability to implement accessible components

Bonus Skills

Python proficiency for backend integration, data processing, or DevOps scripting
Experience with Next.js or other React meta-frameworks
Familiarity with CSS-in-JS solutions (Styled Components, Emotion, etc.)
