Senior Platform Engineer

Onsite: 5 Days Each Week

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Contract To Hire: Yes

Compensation: $90 - $105/Hour W2

Seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to support and advance its enterprise container platform environment. This role will focus on designing, building, and operating scalable, secure, and reliable container platforms that enable internal development teams to deliver business and ICT applications efficiently. The ideal candidate will bring strong infrastructure expertise, deep Kubernetes knowledge, and a passion for automation and platform reliability.

This position plays a key role in establishing platform standards, APIs, and self-service capabilities that form the foundation of the organization’s internal developer platform (IDP).

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain enterprise container platforms across Kubernetes and non-Kubernetes environments.
Develop and support standardized platform services and APIs for internal application teams.
Implement scalable, secure, and highly available Kubernetes clusters in cloud and on-prem environments.
Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and operations teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, and container-related issues.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operations using Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting tools.
Ensure platforms meet regulatory, security, and compliance requirements typical of financial services environments.
Support continuous improvement of platform reliability, performance, and developer experience.
Partner with development teams to enable DevOps practices and modern application delivery.

Required Qualifications

Strong foundation in infrastructure engineering and networking concepts.
Hands-on experience building and managing Kubernetes clusters in cloud and/or on-prem environments.
Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, components, and networking.
Proven experience troubleshooting container platform and networking issues.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS and/or Azure.
Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Working knowledge of Python for automation and scripting.
Solid understanding of DevOps principles and their practical application in infrastructure environments.
Senior-level experience supporting large-scale, enterprise platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in financial services or insurance environments.
Familiarity with regulatory, audit, and security requirements in highly governed industries.
Experience with enterprise container platforms such as:
Red Hat OpenShift
VMware Tanzu
Background in infrastructure-heavy platform or systems engineering teams.
