Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst / Functional Tester with IBM Maximo experience to support testing of enterprise asset management (EAM) systems within a utility/energy environment. The successful candidate will validate business workflows, configurations, integrations, and data within Maximo to ensure reliable operation of asset, work management, and maintenance processes that support critical infrastructure.
This role partners closely with business analysts, developers, and operations stakeholders to ensure high-quality system enhancements, upgrades, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for IBM Maximo modules (Asset Management, Work Management, Preventive Maintenance, Inventory, Procurement, and Contracts).
Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for Maximo enhancements and releases.
Validate end-to-end business processes supporting utility operations, including work orders, asset lifecycle, outage-related maintenance, and field service workflows.
Test Maximo configurations, workflows, security roles, escalations, and automation scripts.
Verify data accuracy and integrity across Maximo and integrated systems (GIS, ERP, SCADA, mobile workforce, and financial systems).
Log, track, and manage defects using Jira (or similar tools) and work closely with developers to drive resolution.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, providing testing estimates and status updates.
Support UAT with business users by preparing test scenarios, coordinating execution, and documenting results.
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA standards, processes, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in QA / Functional Testing of enterprise applications.
Hands-on experience testing IBM Maximo or other Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems.
Strong understanding of utility/energy business processes such as asset lifecycle management, maintenance operations, work orders, and inventory.
Experience creating and executing detailed test cases and test plans.
Familiarity with defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar).
Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Maximo upgrades, patches, or version migrations.
Knowledge of integrations between Maximo and ERP, GIS, or mobile workforce systems.
Basic SQL skills for data validation.
Experience with test management tools (Zephyr, TestRail, ALM).
Exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, UFT) is a plus.
Nice to Have
Utility industry experience (electric, gas, water, or renewable energy).
Understanding of Agile and DevOps testing practices.
Experience supporting production issues and hotfix testing.
