Job Description – Java Spring Boot Developer (Azure & Event-Driven Architecture)
We are hiring for the below role for one of our clients in the UK.
Role Details
Role: Java Spring Boot Developer (Azure & Event-Driven Architecture)
Work Location: Luton, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid – 3 days onsite
Role Type: Contract (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6 months (extendible)
Number of Positions: 2
The Role
We are seeking a Java Spring Boot Developer skilled in Microsoft Azure and event-driven architecture. The role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Azure services, Docker, Kubernetes, and database technologies such as Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Implement event-driven architecture using messaging platforms such as Azure Event Hub, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
Design and integrate RESTful APIs and asynchronous communication patterns.
Deploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure, including AKS.
Ensure application security, performance, and scalability.
Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines and containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality.
Your ProfileExperience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages commonly used for AI and automation.
Hands-on experience with Azure services including Event Hub, Service Bus, Storage, and AKS.
Solid understanding of event-driven systems, messaging queues, and publish/subscribe (pub/sub) patterns.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with Azure services (Event Hub, Service Bus, Storage, AKS).
Knowledge of event-driven systems, messaging queues, and pub/sub patterns.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of cloud-native design principles.
Experience with Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL.
