Médecins Sans Frontières Belgium in Yemen mission is looking for Yemeni nationals to recruit for the MEDICAL DATA PROCESSING OFFICER position.
Location: Aden based (Aden project)
Contract duration: Six (6) months, with the possibility of extension
Contract type: Fixed-Term contract
Reporting to: Project Medical Referent
Main Purpose
Carrying out medical data collection and entry activities into the mission database recording all relevant clinical and demographic data on patients and ensuring data quality/reliability, according to MSF protocols and maintaining confidentiality while producing the appropriate, updated documents for the medical team in order to support decision making processes.
Accountabilities
Performing data entry of all epidemiological information into select databases program and creating appropriate reports, providing data for project development purposes.
Ensuring that all data entered has been authorized and that appropriate documentation has been received (patient records, treatment monitoring, etc.). Ensuring that all data entry processes occur in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensuring all data collected and entered to databases is consistently accurate and complete. Being responsible for ensuring that quality control queries of the database are followed up, ensuring identification of data entry errors and corrections. Immediately reporting to the supervisor, any anomalies in the database
Filing documents according to MSF standards
Communicating regularly with the HCW’s, assisting in the (re)training when necessary, on proper registration of patients, proper filling of the various forms, clarifying queries, obtaining missing information and correcting errors, ensuring they have ongoing sufficient supplies of necessary hardcopy data collection forms
Assisting in the compilation and preparation of regular reports and providing detailed information to medical and laboratory teams (weekly, monthly, according to patient treatment requirements).
Brief Contextual Information
MSFOCB has been operating in the South of Yemen since 2022.
In 2026, Yemen mission will launch a new project based in the capital city Aden. This will be a comprehensive Primary Health Care program implemented through two fixed PHCCs and a mobile outreach approach serving four districts around Aden. One PHCC in located in Aden and the second one is in Al Farshah, approximately 83 km from the capital.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
The Medical Data Processing Officer is responsible for accurate, timely, and confidential entry of project data collected from two fixed PHCCs and mobile outreach activities. This will support effective monitoring, reporting, and decision-making for project implementation.
Support putting in place required by MSF data collection standards at PHCCs.
Enter health service data from PHCCs and mobile outreach activities into DHIS.
Enter other data related to migrants into paper-based and/or electronic tools.
Verify data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before entry.
Support routine data quality by conducting periodic cross-checks between source documents (registers, patient files) and DHIS2/database entries.
Support data cleaning activities, including validation, de-duplication, and correction of inconsistencies in DHIS 2.
Flag discrepancies, missing data, or errors and coordinate with project team for correction.
Provide on-site data support during mobile outreach activities when required.
Ensure compliance with MSF data protection, confidentiality and ethical standards
Coordinate with PHCC staff and mobile outreach teams to ensure timely submission of data.
Assist in the compilation and preparation of regular reports and providing detailed information to medical teams (weekly, monthly, according to patient treatment requirements).
Assist in training PHCC and outreach staff on proper completion of data collection
Job Requirements
Education:
Essential, higher education with proven computer literacy,
Degree in Information and Technology (IT), statistic, Public Health or related field desirable
Experience: Minimum 2 years work experience in data entry/analysis
Knowledge
Fluent in written and spoken English
Essential computer literacy (word, excel, internet)
