IT Manager – New York

Echo Talent have partnered with a global law firm who are looking for an experienced IT Manager to lead their local IT support operations in our New York office. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable, high-quality IT services, delivering an excellent end-user experience, and leading a high-performing local support team. You’ll combine hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
What You’ll Do
Lead and manage the New York IT support team, aligning local delivery with firm wide IT strategy
Ensure consistent, timely, and high quality IT support across assigned offices
Own and oversee all local IT issues, ensuring clear communication and effective resolution
Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and major incidents, including after-hours support when required
Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, executives, and business leaders, providing high-priority support
Ensure availability and maintenance of end-user technology including laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, AV systems, and related infrastructure
Partner with cybersecurity and IT operations teams to ensure security, compliance, and best practices
Drive consistency across global IT support locations and collaborate closely with peer IT leaders
Oversee asset management, service tracking (ServiceNow), and adherence to firm wide IT policies and standards
Contribute to IT projects, process improvement initiatives, and automation efforts
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience leading IT support teams in a large, distributed enterprise environment (ideally law firm or professional services industries)
Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, and performance management
Deep expertise across Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Azure AD, and cloud services
Experience managing major incidents and supporting senior and C-level stakeholders
Strong understanding of IT operations, backend teams, and system interdependencies
Ability to improve efficiency through automation and process optimisation (e.g., PowerShell)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure with strong judgment and business acumen
