Role Title: Head of Fund Finance

Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer

Location: London

Overview

A rapidly growing private markets investment manager is seeking a senior finance leader to build and run its Fund Finance & Operations function.

This role is a key partner to the CFO and Investment team, with end-to-end responsibility for fund finance, operational infrastructure and governance across a complex, multi-jurisdictional platform.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical fund expertise with a hands-on, commercial mindset, enabling efficient deal execution, best-in-class investor reporting and scalable processes to support continued rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Finance & Control

Lead finance and operations across multiple active fund vintages from first close through realisation and wind-down.
Oversee fund structuring, financial reporting, tax compliance and lifecycle planning.
Manage complex cross-border fund and SPV structures (e.g. Luxembourg, Cayman, UK) working closely with external administrators, auditors, tax advisers and legal counsel.
Own and continuously enhance the third-party administrator framework and outputs.

Treasury & Fund-Level Leverage

Structure, negotiate and manage subscription line and NAV financing facilities, including large syndicated facilities.
Optimise liquidity and LTV to minimise capital calls and enable seamless deal settlement.
Oversee cash management, FX and treasury across funds and structures

Process, Controls & Automation

Design and embed scalable, well-controlled finance and operational processes as AUM and transaction volumes grow.
Drive automation of cashflow tracking and investor return reporting to materially shorten reporting timelines.
Strengthen governance, documentation and control frameworks across the function.

Investment & Deal Support

Act as primary finance partner to the deal team on transactions and funding.
Deliver fund modelling, dry powder analysis and scenario planning.
Lead finance workstreams on deal closings, capital movements and settlements.

Investor Reporting & Fundraising

Lead finance input into LP due diligence and fundraising.
Own financial DDQ content, data rooms and ongoing investor reporting.
Design and run efficient LP closing and capital activity processes to reduce execution risk and management burden.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

Build and lead a high-performing finance and operations team in line with platform growth.
Manage key external relationships with administrators, banks, FX providers and advisers to drive accountability and service quality.
Act as the central finance contact for auditors and other external stakeholders.

Required Experience & Skills

Significant experience in private markets fund finance (private equity, private credit or similar), ideally within a fast-growing investment manager.
Strong track record managing multi-jurisdictional fund structures and institutional investor reporting.
Deep technical knowledge of fund accounting, reporting, tax and treasury.
Direct experience structuring and managing subscription/NAV facilities with relationship banks.
Demonstrated ability to implement scalable processes and data/technology-driven automation.
Experience supporting fundraising processes and LP due diligence.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).

Personal Attributes

Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-oriented.
Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment.
Strong communicator able to partner closely with investment professionals.
High ownership mindset with attention to detail and control.
Proven people leader and team developer.

This is a rare chance to take ownership of and further institutionalise the finance and operations backbone of a rapidly scaling private capital platform that has recently doubled in size and continues to expand across new fund vintages and strategies. Working directly with the CFO and senior investment professionals, the role will be central to enabling the firm’s next phase of growth.
