Senior AI Engineer (Freelance – 6 Months)

Location: Ghent (Hybrid)

Language: Dutch (Fluent/Native Required), English

Contract: Freelance (6 months, extension possible)

Start: ASAP

About the role -

Our client is a well-established innovation company based partnering with organisations across multiple industries to design, build, and scale digital solutions.

Core Technical Expertise

5+ years experience in AI/ML engineering.
Strong Python skills (production-level experience).
Solid background in Machine Learning (supervised, unsupervised, model evaluation).
Proven experience with Generative AI and LLM integrations.
Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.
Experience with LLM tooling (e.g. LangChain, vector databases, RAG architectures).
Experience deploying ML systems to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Understanding of MLOps principles.

Client-Facing Capabilities

Comfortable in client workshops and advisory conversations.
Able to communicate complex AI topics clearly in Dutch and English.
Experience in consulting, agency, or product environments is a strong plus.
Commercial awareness and ability to identify growth opportunities.

Language

Fluent Dutch (mandatory).
Strong professional English.
