Job Specifications

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support a high-profile aerospace project based in Winnipeg, MB. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of an extension to work in a collaborative, fast-paced production environment focused on delivering innovative and efficient manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Core Functions

Develop manufacturing concepts and strategies to align with business and production goals.
Create and maintain manufacturing plans, Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and technical illustrations.
Implement and optimize production and tooling methodologies.
Assess product designs for manufacturability and provide input for design improvements.
Perform producibility analyses and ensure process capability meets quality and schedule requirements.
Develop integrated work statements and event sequencing to support production delivery.
Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues impacting performance, cost, or timeline.
Draft and maintain procedures and documentation to meet business and regulatory requirements.
Recommend improvements to manufacturing processes through technical assessments.
Support root cause investigations (RCCA) for production non-conformances.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, and operations.
Evaluate tooling and fixture solutions and conduct time studies and process validations.
Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean initiatives.
Support engineering change implementation and ensure configuration control.

Operational Responsibilities

Interrogate CAD models and part definitions (CATIA preferred).
Analyze production data using tools such as Excel, Minitab, or similar.
Conduct DFM/DFA reviews and process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA).
Create and maintain detailed production process documentation.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
Must be registered or eligible for registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM).
Candidates with a technical diploma and extensive experience may also be considered.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years in an engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally within the aerospace or complex industrial sectors.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Experience with ENOVIA, CATIA, SAP-CAMS, CANVAS, or other production planning software is an asset.
Familiarity with AS9100 or other regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.

Additional Requirements

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.
Knowledge of composite and/or aerospace manufacturing is considered a strong asset.
Experience in production planning is also an advantage.
