Overview

The Senior Project Manager will play a strategic leadership role in coordinating complex transformation initiatives. This role supports executive leadership by ensuring projects are structured, aligned, decision-ready, and effectively governed. This is a senior-level, strategic position suited for someone with strong management consulting, system thinking, governance, and large-scale transformation experience.

Responsibilities

Lead integration of multiple concurrent workstreams across ALA, Ministry teams, and system partners.
Translate strategic direction into structured implementation plans and milestones.
Identify cross-dependencies, sequencing considerations, and system-level impacts.
Establish and operationalize governance structures (e.g., steering committees, working groups).
Develop decision logs and clarify accountabilities and prepare high-quality, executive-ready decision materials.
Coordinate across Ministry divisions and ALA leadership.
Facilitate collaboration across participating ministries (e.g., Health, Seniors, Housing).
Act as a central integration point for transformation initiatives.
Establish and operationalize governance structures (e.g., steering committees, working groups).

MUST HAVES

Bachelor’s Degree
Project Management designation (e.g., PMP)
10+ years of direct experience in non-IT project management
8+ years planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring concurrent projects
5+ years developing change management deliverables (Change Strategy, etc.)
5+ years developing core project deliverables (project charters, business cases, etc.)
5+ years experience working in change management environments
5+ years experience in project governance

NICE-TO-HAVES

5+ years of executive stakeholder relationship management
5+ years understanding system barriers and Social Determinants of Health
Experience working in public sector or cross-ministry transformation environments
