Director of Engineering | Nottingham | £140k + Exceptional Bonus + Car Allowance – £200k+ Total Package
We’re working in partnership with a well-established UK SaaS business that is entering an exciting new phase of growth. With a brand-new platform set to complete their SaaS product suite, the company is positioning itself to compete with some of the world’s leading technology providers.
With nearly 1,000 employees and decades of industry influence, the business has built a strong reputation in its sector. This role offers a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership position with genuine ownership, significant delivery responsibility, and visibility at board level.
The Opportunity
You will take full ownership of engineering delivery for a new Finance SaaS platform, leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams across the UK.
The platform is already live, but the ambition for growth is significant. The company is investing heavily and is now looking for a commercially minded, technically credible Director to drive delivery, scale the platform, and build a long-term internal engineering capability.
This role is well suited to someone who has grown from an engineering background and is comfortable leading within complex, delivery-focused environments.
Key Responsibilities
Owning end-to-end engineering delivery for a Finance SaaS platform
Leading an initial team of around 15 engineers, with responsibility to scale this significantly over time
Balancing ongoing platform stability and BAU with new product development and innovation
Working closely with Product, Design, Finance, and Executive stakeholders
Driving best practices around security, performance, reliability, and compliance
Introducing modern engineering approaches, including AI-assisted development
Delivering against clear commercial objectives and timelines
What We’re Looking For
Demonstrated experience leading and scaling engineering teams within a SaaS environment
Strong technical foundation (ideally a former developer) with credibility across architecture and engineering delivery
Experience building or scaling complex platforms, ideally within finance, ERP, or other regulated sectors
Commercially aware leader who understands how engineering and product strategy drive customer value and revenue growth
Confident communicator able to influence and challenge stakeholders constructively
Experience working with finance platforms, transactional systems, analytics platforms, or ERP-style products is highly desirable
Technology stack: C#, .NET, Azure, Angular
Package
Salary: Up to £140,000
Bonus: Performance-based (up to 35%)
Car Allowance: £7,500

This role is primarily onsite in Nottingham, with some flexibility, as the Director of Engineering will need to be closely aligned with both the engineering teams and the executive leadership.
