About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer - Back End to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a technical leader who is passionate about shaping the technical landscape and driving innovation across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and executing the technical strategy within a significant business domain, influencing multiple teams, and ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals. You will collaborate with senior leadership, product owners, and architects to develop scalable, reliable, and efficient backend systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. As a key member of our engineering community, you will also mentor engineers, promote best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Qualifications
Deep expertise in Java programming language
Extensive experience in system design and distributed architectures
Proven track record of leading technical initiatives across multiple teams
Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Ability to set and communicate a multi-team technical vision and strategy
Demonstrated leadership and influence without authority
Experience in establishing engineering standards and best practices
Active participation in Communities of Practice or technical forums
Excellent business acumen with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
Responsibilities
Own and drive the technical strategy for a significant business outcome or technology domain, influencing overall technical direction
Lead and coordinate efforts of multiple teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical strategy
Identify emerging patterns, define best practices, and establish reusable frameworks to enhance engineering productivity
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, product owners, and architects
Represent the organization in external technical forums, contributing to industry discussions and vendor engagements
Drive service quality standards and practices, guiding complex incident resolution and ensuring high reliability
Develop strategies for proactive technical debt management across teams
Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
