Position Overview

To support Convertr’s continued growth, we are seeking a technically strong and pragmatic Data Engineer to help evolve and scale our data foundations.

This role will focus on building and improving data pipelines, increasing access to platform and event data, and strengthening the underlying data structures and processes that support analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives.

Working closely with the Data Lead, Engineering, and DevOps teams, this role will take ownership of evolving Convertr’s data foundations, helping connect data across multiple systems into reliable, reusable datasets that support product decisions and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines that move data from operational systems into analytics and data platforms
Work closely with Engineering and DevOps teams to support data replication, ingestion, and reliability (e.g. DMS and platform data flows)
Improve access to and usability of platform logs and event data for analytics and AI use cases
Help define where different types of data should live (e.g. data warehouse vs data lake) and manage data stored in AWS S3 for analytics, machine learning, and AI workloads
Build and maintain analytics-ready datasets in AWS Redshift using dbt as the primary transformation tool
Own and evolve the dbt project, including model structure, reusable transformations, testing, and documentation
Improve data quality, monitoring, and documentation to reduce manual effort and data breakages
Support machine learning and AI initiatives by providing clean, well-structured datasets and reliable data access
Ensure data handling aligns with Convertr’s security, compliance, and GDPR requirements
Support with ad-hoc data requests

Experience Required

Experience in a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment
Strong SQL experience and confidence working with data warehouses such as AWS Redshift (or similar)
Strong Python experience for building and maintaining production data pipelines, including working with APIs, logs, and semi-structured data
Experience using dbt to build and maintain analytics models within a data warehouse
Familiarity with cloud data services (e.g. S3, RDS/Aurora, Redshift)
Experience working with event-based or log data (e.g. Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or similar)
Comfortable collaborating with Engineering and DevOps teams on data-related workflows
Understanding of software development best practices such as version control and CI/CD
