Loans Closer Analyst - Middle Office Operations - Investment Banking

London - 6 month contract

Marshall Wolfe are hiring on behalf of our client within investment banking, looking for an experienced Loans Closer professional to support secondary trading of performing and non‑performing loans, with a strong focus on Par and Distressed Bank Loan closing. You will work closely with trading, sales, legal, compliance and external counterparties to ensure timely, accurate execution and settlement of complex loan and private credit transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor trading systems for new secondary loan trades and coordinate trade affirmation with external clients.
Lead end‑to‑end loan closing for Par, Distressed and Private Security transactions, ensuring all operational, legal and credit conditions are met.
Review and interpret LMA-style credit agreements and loan documentation to determine transfer requirements and conditions precedent.
Draft, review and negotiate trade confirmations, transfer certificates and other transfer documentation, ensuring alignment with front office and legal teams.
Coordinate settlements via ClearPar and bilateral processes, managing interactions with Agents, counterparties and internal stakeholders.
Liaise with Legal, Compliance, Credit, Trading, Agency and Controllers to obtain approvals, resolve issues and ensure accurate booking of risk positions and cashflows.
Manage restructurings (loan‑to‑loan, loan‑to‑private security), ensuring timely documentation and position updates across systems.
Proactively identify and resolve trade settlement breaks, minimising operational and market risk.

Required Experience

Proven experience in Global Markets / Investment Banking loan operations or loans middle office, with direct exposure to Par & Distressed Bank Loan closing.
Hands‑on ClearPar experience for secondary loan trade processing and settlement (preferred).
Strong experience working with LMA-based credit agreements and transfer documentation.
