Office Location: Central London (Hybrid)

A global, high-growth Fintech firm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its engineering team in Madrid. This organisation has expanded to over 600+ globally. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a mission-critical platform, building the financial infrastructure that empowers businesses internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Lead initiatives from discovery to delivery, following a "you build it, you own it" philosophy for both development and maintenance.
Collaborate with engineering leaders to design new services and components
Coach less experienced engineers, driving the team’s overall effectiveness and technical trajectory.
Partner with Product and Operations teams to ensure technical solutions align with global business goals.

Technology & Environment

Backend Engineering: Extensive experience with complex software systems using Python preferred; open to other OOP backgrounds
Architecture: Building and managing services with standard APIs and external integrations.
Observability: Incorporating robust monitoring, alerting, and reliability into every service.
Engineering Culture: Open Source friendly (internal and external) with a pragmatic approach to improving legacy code.
Deep understanding of financial systems
