Work Location & Duration

Candidates must be local to Austin, TX or surrounding areas.**
Initial 3 months will be 100% on-site.
Remainder of engagement: Hybrid (1 day onsite, 4 days remote).

This role is a contract-to-hire position* and after the contract duration the conversion to Full Time Employment will be immediate.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a contract Junior Full Stack Developer to be a key resource on a technical services team. The client is seeking a qualified candidate with 1+ years of experience for a temp-to-perm position to assist in Full Stack Web and Windows development using C#, Angular, and SQL Server. The candidate will be working with Agile principles to develop and support custom software used by the client that supports Texas legislative session and interim activities. The team develops and supports a suite of mission-critical applications that are used by legislative clients to create, update, and manage their legislative activities for the Texas Legislature.

The application team works in an enterprise-wide environment, supporting a wide variety of legacy solutions and new initiatives. One of our initiatives is the modernization of our legacy solutions. A successful team member should be able to:

Strong web developer with knowledge of CSS and HTML
Quickly learn the coding environment and applications
Follow established best practices while also offering new solutions
Communicate the details of their work and ideas
Pay close attention to the quality of their coding and testing

Qualifications

Minimum (Required):

1+ year of:

Experience with C# (Other preferred: Java, or other object-oriented language)
RESTful Web APIs/Web Services
Modern Web Frameworks: Angular 10+ Preferred, React, Vue, or other JavaScript frameworks, CSS 3.0, HTML 5.0, JSON
Relational Database experience (e.g. MS SQL Server)
Data languages: xml, Json, etc.
Typescript/JavaScript
Design patterns (MVVM/MVC)
Report designer (e.g. SSRS)

Preferred (Optional):

Understanding of Agile/Lean principles – Preferred
IDE - Visual Studio 2022 and VS Code – Preferred
Net 8 & .Net Framework
WPF, Windows Form
Typescript/JavaScript
ORM – nHibernate, Entity Framework
Design patterns (MVVM/MVC)
Report designer, e.g. SSRS
Unit, Integration and System Testing – xUnit, NUnit and Jasmine
Source Code Control - Git
Continuous Integration Tools such as GitHub
Understanding of Agile/Lean principles – Preferred
