Job Title: R2R Workstream Lead Consultant – SAP S/4HANA Transformation - Senior

Location: Toulouse, France (Hybrid - 2 Days on the client site every 2 weeks)

Job Description:

The R2R Workstream Lead Consultant owns the overall design and governance of the finance and accounting process for the Record to Report workstream within the S/4HANA transformation program.
This role ensures a fit to standard, compliant, and scalable financial solution covering general ledger, asset accounting, controlling, financial close, consolidation, and reporting.
The role collaborates closely with business finance teams, cross-functional workstreams, architects, and technical teams to drive an integrated S/4HANA Finance landscape.

Key Responsibilities

1. Workstream Leadership & Delivery Governance

Lead the full R2R workstream across global finance, controlling, tax, audit, and technical stakeholders.
Manage scope, timeline, risks, dependencies, and deliverables for all R2R activities.
Conduct workshops, design authorities, and governance meetings to secure alignment and decisions.
Ensure compliance with the SAP Activate methodology, program standards, and quality gates.

2. Finance Process & Solution Architecture

Define the end-to-end R2R process architecture, including GL, AA, CO, financial close, consolidation, statutory, and management reporting.
Drive fit to standard adoption, challenging custom requests where needed to safeguard a harmonized core.
Own the To Be design, solution blueprints, and cross-functional integration documentation.
Translate business finance requirements into S/4HANA configuration and functional specifications.

3. SAP S/4HANA Expertise

Areas typically covered include:

Universal Journal (ACDOCA) & Financial Closing Cockpit
General Ledger (New GL), Parallel Ledgers, Document Splitting
Asset Accounting (FI AA)
Accounts Payable & Receivable (FA/AR) integration with R2R
Management Accounting (CO): Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, Allocations
Product Costing & COPA (if included in scope)
Group Reporting / Consolidation
Tax configuration & statutory compliance
Bank Accounting / Cash Management (if aligned under R2R)

4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Engagement

Act as the primary point of contact for the CFO organization, Finance Process Owners, and Shared Service Centers.
Moderate discussions to align global templates with local statutory requirements.
Prepare and support training, change management, business readiness, and transition to new finance processes.

5. Quality Assurance & Testing

Review process flows, configuration, master data design, and functional documentation.
Lead test preparation for SIT/UAT: scenario coverage, test data, defect triage, and resolution.
Validate R2R-relevant cutover tasks such as open item migration, balances load, and ledger initialization.

6. Integration Management

Ensure alignment with P2P, O2C/L2C, Treasury, Manufacturing/CO, and Data Migration teams.
Oversee integration touchpoints for master data: Business Partner, cost objects, GL accounts, tax codes, etc.
Coordinate with Security & Controls to ensure SoD compliance and proper financial authorizations.

Critical Skills & Experience

8–12+ years SAP FI/CO experience with strong R2R process expertise.
Minimum one full S/4HANA implementation, ideally in a lead or design authority role.
Deep knowledge of Universal Journal, closing processes, controlling, and financial reporting.
Experience running global template design, workshops, and complex finance transformations.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, especially with CFO level audiences
