We’re hiring a Head of AI to take ownership of AI and automation across a fast-growing fintech/NBFI environment.

This is a practical, delivery-led role. You’ll review the firm’s entire technology and operational landscape, identify where AI can drive real impact, and lead implementation. The focus is on automation, efficiency, smarter decisioning, and scalable systems, not research for research’s sake.

You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Credit, Operations and Commercial teams to embed AI into day-to-day workflows and core platforms.

What you’ll do

Review existing systems, data flows and business processes end to end
Identify automation and AI opportunities across credit, underwriting, ops, onboarding and internal tooling
Build and own an AI roadmap aligned to commercial priorities
Design and deliver production-ready solutions (LLMs, workflow automation, decision support, data pipelines)
Introduce AI into operational processes, not just customer-facing product
Build POCs and take them into live environments
Select and manage vendors where appropriate
Ensure everything aligns with governance, risk and regulatory expectations
Act as the internal AI lead and educator
Stay hands-on technically while shaping strategy

What we’re looking for

Experience leading AI or automation initiatives in a boutique NBFI, challenger bank, fintech lender or similar regulated business
Strong understanding of financial services workflows (credit, onboarding, ops, risk, compliance)
Hands-on technical background (Python, APIs, LLMs, data platforms, automation tools)
Proven track record taking AI from idea to production
Commercial mindset, focused on outcomes and efficiency
Comfortable working in lean environments with autonomy
Able to translate business problems into technical solutions
Experience working within regulated frameworks is a big plus
