Senior Full Stack Developer – Data Engineering (Long-Term Contract)

New York, NY (Hybrid)

A leading global alternative investment manager is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer focused on Data Engineering to join its enterprise Data Platform Engineering team on a long-term contract basis. This role sits at the center of the firm’s data strategy, supporting Portfolio Management, Trading, Risk, Compliance, Middle Office Operations, and Finance.

This is a highly hands-on role within a globally distributed team (NYC + offshore), operating in a fast-paced, high-expectation agile environment with full production ownership.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Designing and building scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines, including near real-time data feeds

• Structuring and optimizing data across layered warehouse models (raw → refined → curated)

• Developing curated data products and semantic models to enable consistent BI and analytics consumption

• Delivering data through REST and GraphQL APIs for internal tools and AI-driven workflows

• Improving data quality, query performance, and pipeline reliability across Snowflake and cloud environments

• Participating in code reviews, change management, documentation, and on-call production support

What They’re Looking For:

• Senior-level experience building end-to-end data pipelines and enterprise-grade data platforms

• Strong Python and/or Java in production environments

• Deep experience with modern cloud data platforms (Azure preferred) and Snowflake

• Front-end exposure (React)

• Proven performance tuning expertise across pipelines and warehouses

• Experience supporting high-volume, near real-time data environments

• Asset management or financial data experience strongly preferred

This is a long-term engagement with strong visibility and impact across the front office and enterprise reporting functions.
