Our client is a respected global provider of financial analysis, trusted by leading organisations worldwide for delivering accurate, timely, and actionable insights. They are now seeking a Back End Developer to join their technical team in Thornaby. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high‑performance applications used by an international client base, contributing directly to the development of advanced analytical systems.

About the Role

As a Back End Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust server‑side applications. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, ensure seamless front‑end integration, and help evolve the infrastructure with innovative database and application solutions.

Your work will directly support mission‑critical systems relied upon by global clients.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, optimise, and maintain high‑quality web applications using C# and ASP.NET Core MVC
Work closely with internal teams to design efficient back‑end services
Explore and implement new database and application technologies to enhance performance
Build and manage scalable and secure database architectures
Produce clear and comprehensive documentation for systems and processes
Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting
Contribute to both customer‑facing applications and internal systems, ensuring reliability, security, and performance

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline
Proven experience as a Back End Developer using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, and Azure DevOps
Strong experience with Azure SQL
Proficiency with Git version control
Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming
Knowledge of design principles for scalable applications
Strong debugging and unit testing capabilities

Key Skills

Expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, and Azure DevOps
Advanced Azure SQL experience
Ability to research and integrate new technology solutions
Excellent documentation skills
Strong understanding of OOP principles
Familiarity with continuous integration practices
Analytical mindset and strong problem‑solving skills
Clear and confident written and verbal communication
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
