Assistant Project Manager – HVDC / Transmission Infrastructure

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of major HVDC transmission infrastructure projects as part of a long-term strategic investment programme. The role supports the delivery of civils and building works associated with large onshore converter station developments, working within a multidisciplinary project environment and alongside framework supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Project Manager in coordinating project activities across a complex construction environment
Monitor contractor performance, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing standards
Assist with programme, cost and budget tracking to ensure delivery to schedule
Interface with contractors, design teams and internal/external stakeholders
Manage project documentation including RFIs, change events and technical submittals

Experience & Knowledge:

Experience within a project delivery or construction environment
Understanding of construction practices and site-based delivery
Exposure to AC substations, HVDC converter stations or complex infrastructure projects advantageous
Working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, the Health & Safety at Work Act and relevant HSE legislation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Awareness of NEC3 contract administration preferred
