Workday HCM Business Analyst — Hybrid | Mountain View, CA
We are looking for a strong Business Analyst with Workday HCM experience to support HR systems and business process initiatives across the employee lifecycle.
This is a techno-functional BA role, focused on business analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and validation — not a development or integration build role.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience working with HR stakeholders, translating requirements into functional specifications, and supporting system implementations and enhancements across Workday and related HR systems.
What You’ll Do
Partner with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders to gather and document requirements
Translate business needs into functional specifications, workflows, and user stories
Support Workday HCM across modules: Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, Compensation, Talent
Work on Hire-to-Retire lifecycle processes (onboarding to offboarding)
Collaborate with technical teams on integrations (as a BA, not developer)
Support UAT, regression testing, and data validation cycles end-to-end
Analyze data flows across Workday, SAP, ADP, and other HR systems
Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and process consistency
Maintain documentation for business processes, configurations, and changes
Work in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams
What We’re Looking For (Must-Have)
8–12 years of Business Analyst experience (strict preference)
Strong experience as a BA in HR / HRIS / Workday environments
Hands-on Workday HCM exposure across key modules (Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, etc.)
Strong understanding of HR business processes (Hire-to-Retire lifecycle)
Experience in:
Requirements gathering
Stakeholder management
Functional documentation
UAT ownership
Exposure to integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, APIs) from a BA perspective only
Understanding of data flow between Workday, SAP HR/Payroll, and ADP
Basic knowledge of Workday security (roles, groups, access control, SSO/Okta)
Excellent communication and stakeholder-facing skills
Nice to Have
Experience with SAP HR / SAP Payroll
Familiarity with ADP systems
Exposure to tools like Jira, Confluence
Experience in Agile environments
Knowledge of reporting tools (Tableau, Looker)
