Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Hybrid 2 days per week (Ottawa/Gatineau), Canada
Duration: Long Term Contract
Summary:
The ideal Intermediate Project Manager is a detail-oriented and adaptable professional, skilled in project management frameworks, risk mitigation, and resource coordination. They have strong communication and organizational abilities, they excel at stakeholder engagement, documentation, and ensuring project alignment with business objectives. The Intermediate Project Manager will report to the Director General, Digital Enablement and Innovation.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Support the definition and documentation of project scopes, objectives, and governance.
Plan for the orderly execution of assigned information technology projects with comprehensive project plans with timelines and milestones.
Monitor project progress and identify risks or roadblocks.
Provide regular status updates and risk assessment reports.
Facilitate communication between project stakeholders (Meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up action items.)
Ensure resource availability and allocation.
Track project deliverables against established goals, performance metrics and progress reports.
Assist in budget management and cost tracking by creating budget forecasts and expenditure reports.
Facilitate risk management strategies and mitigation plans
Manage or support projects involving enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, including coordination with platform administrators, developers, and business stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
Ability to create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Skilled in risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies.
Supporting senior leaders in achieving strategic objectives through effective project oversight and coordination.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Proven track record in facilitating communication between diverse stakeholders.
Experience with data analysis tools to monitor project performance
Mandatory Qualifications:
Must be located in the National Capital Region and willing to work on-site, 2 days per week (Ottawa/Gatineau).
Must have 7+ years of Project Management experience supporting complex IT projects, particularly Digital Business Initiatives.
Must have 3+ years of experience playing a lead role as an Intermediate Project Manager in at least 3 IM/IT projects in the last 5 years.
Must have 3+ years’ experience managing projects using an Agile delivery methodology (i.e. Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
Must have 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Project Management tools – MS Project, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook.
Must have a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or university credit in project management.
Must have a University Degree or College/CEGEP Diploma related to Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management or similar from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Preferred Assets:
Experience managing or supporting projects involving the ServiceNow platform considered an asset.
Experience working with the Federal Government or Crown Corporations is preferred.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an asset.
Additional certifications such as PRINCE2, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or ServiceNow platform certifications are considered an asset.
