Product Owner

Toronto, ON (Onsite four days, Remote one day), Canada

Duration: 6+ Months Contract to Hire

There is an Video AI interview as screening part from client side.

Client feedback for previous candidates: lacks hands-on AI/ML platform ownership and Azure ML/MLOps depth required. Limited exposure to Azure-specific services and technical MLOps practices.

Job Description:

The Pod Product Owner partners with cross-functional teams to drive delivery of high-value, customer-focused product increments within a banking environment. This role owns the product backlog, aligns with senior stakeholders on product vision, and ensures Agile best practices are followed to maximize business value.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Own and manage the product backlog, including writing and refining user stories with clear acceptance criteria

• Prioritize and sequence work to ensure maximum business value delivery

• Partner with Product Leaders, Technology Leads, and banking stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable requirements

• Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives

• Remove blockers and adjust priorities based on feedback and evolving business needs

• Communicate cross-pod impacts and coordinate with other product groups as needed

• Continuously assess customer feedback, regulatory considerations, and market trends

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with backlog management and stakeholder engagement

• Ability to influence senior leaders in matrixed environments

• Experience with Jira and Confluence

• Knowledge of Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

• Exposure to AI/ML services such as Azure Machine Learning, ML Ops, AKS, or similar

Required Experience:

• Proven experience as a Product Owner in Agile environments

• Banking or financial services industry experience required

• Experience working in complex, fast-paced environments

• Strong communication, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
