Job Title: API developer with Tenable
Location: McLean, VA
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain custom connectors between Tenable and internal tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, and CMDB.
Use the pyTenable library to automate recurring tasks like scan scheduling, asset tagging, and report generation.
Build ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move vulnerability data into data lakes or custom BI dashboards.
Integrate Tenable specialized scans (Container Security, Web App Scanning) into Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
Manage API keys, permissions, and rate-limiting to ensure secure and efficient access to the Tenable platform.
Requirements
Proficiency in Python (specifically for pyTenable) or Go/Node.js.
Hands-on experience with Tenable.io, Tenable.sc, or Tenable One API endpoints.
Expert knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON payloads, and authentication headers.
Experience automating security in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
Proficiency with Postman, Git, and Docker.
Preferred: Experience with Tenable.ot for industrial security integrations.
Preferred: Certification in Tenable (e.g., Tenable.io Specialist) or Security (e.g., Security+, CEH).
Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps.
