Our summer internship program is a 9-week, fully remote experience running from June 8 to August 7, 2026. This is a paid opportunity at $15/hour.*
Summary of the Role
In our 9-week, paid, and fully-remote program, interns can expect to work with a team of Kaplan employees on day-to-day functions and projects that contribute to company-wide business initiatives. While gaining comprehensive real world experience, interns will also engage through weekly small group meetings and workshops, designed around professional development, leadership, and direct networking with leaders across Kaplan.
In the role of Finance Intern, you will learn from the team that is responsible for continually improving financial reporting and analysis so that as an organization we can make faster decisions and keep pace with our ever-changing landscape. This Intern role is ideal for a candidate who strives in a non-traditional environment, who can focus on the details, and is always looking for new and inventive ways to improve business processes. The Intern will be exposed to the processes for general ledger analysis and clean up, monthly financial close reporting and deliverables, consolidation of reporting and executive presentations, financial model creation and standardization, trend analysis, and ad hoc analytical activities.
Primary/Key Responsibilities
Engage and participate in leadership workshops covering topics such as: Mentorship, Professional Development, and Networking opportunities
Interns must be available for the 9-week program from June 8 - August 7 2026
Learn alongside FP&A team the importance of models for unit economics reporting and analysis
Work with finance managers to perform budgeting and planning activities
Understand the basics of monthly/weekly reporting on key financial metrics and business trends
Learn from Accounting team the monthly financial close process
Learn how to perform ad hoc analytical support
Education & Experience
Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science or quantitative field
Some undergraduate experience in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science or quantitative field
Active undergraduate student in their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year
Demonstrated academic achievement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Enthusiastic and has a growth mindset, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities, adaptable, a critical thinker, organized and collaborative
Preferred Qualifications
Some experience with Excel (financial modeling, advanced functions, pivot tables, Power BI, macros, graphs/charts) and PowerPoint
