As a Senior Java Developer, you will:
Advocate for and employ good development practices on the team such as consistent branching strategy, coding standards, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing.
Support the technical leads in designing the separation of functional into microservices and the end to end integration and flow between technical components. Support the test automation engineers in testing the stories and features delivered both from a functional and non-functional perspective.
Follow the Scrum Methodology participating actively in sprint backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint review and sprint retrospective.
Support the team in delivering features by expanding capabilities into other areas of development and testing.
The following skills and experience are essential for this role:
Strong experience in Java 8 and above with proven background in Spring, Spring Boot, Restful services, object orientation and design patterns
Strong hands-on experience in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, and other scripting languages to support DevOps and Quality Engineering work.
Knowledge of database technologies such as; MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Ability to mentor and develop junior developers.
Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
Set yourself apart:
Experience with building datastore solutions on at least one No-SQL(Elasticsearch) would be beneficial but not essential.
Proven track record of applying analytical and creative thought that translate into technical solutions.
Evidence of debugging and resolving sophisticated technical issues.
