6 Month Contract - AWS Cloud Engineering Manager – Cloud Transformation (Insurance) – Consultancy Role

Are you a seasoned AWS Cloud leader with experience managing teams and delivering large-scale cloud transformation projects? Join our technology consultancy as an AWS Cloud Engineering Manager, leading a high-performing team in delivering a major AWS migration for a leading insurance client.

The Role:
As the AWS Cloud Engineering Manager, you will oversee the cloud transformation program for our insurance sector client, ensuring seamless execution, best practices, and alignment with business goals. You will lead a team of AWS Cloud Engineers, working closely with solution architects, DevOps teams, and client stakeholders to drive technical excellence and successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of AWS Cloud Engineers to deliver high-quality cloud solutions.
Oversee the design, implementation, and migration of applications and infrastructure to AWS.
Develop and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance best practices.
Collaborate with architects and client stakeholders to define cloud strategies and roadmaps.
Optimize cloud performance, cost management, and scalability using AWS-native tools.
Drive the adoption of automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and CI/CD best practices.
Provide technical leadership and problem-solving guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company objectives.
Act as the main point of contact for client engagement, progress updates, and risk management.
Key Skills & Experience:
Extensive experience in AWS cloud engineering and leadership roles.
Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, etc.).
Proven experience managing cloud transformation or large-scale AWS migration projects.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS).
Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and governance in regulated industries.
Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and performance optimization strategies.
Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and team mentoring skills.
Experience within the insurance or financial services industry is highly desirable.
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) are a plus.
