VACANCY - Graduate Structural Engineer

McGregor McMahon Consulting Engineers is a successful and respected Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy. We pride ourselves on high quality project delivery with a strong referrals / repeat business model.

We are currently seeking an experienced graduate structural engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-reliant individual with drive and ambition to enhance our Structural team.

The role will involve:

* Managing the design delivery of projects, working alongside Senior Engineers and the Project Directors
* Preparing technical solutions for projects to meet internal QMS requirements while fulfilling client requirements.
* Preparing and delivering detailed Building Warrant packages ready for the SER certifier's check / review.
* Liaising with clients and project team professionals.
* Attending sites to undertake inspections, and prepare reports
* Assisting with monitoring and assess the project delivery against client requirements.
* Assisting with monitoring commercial performance to ensure that projects are delivered profitably.
* Contributing to resource meetings and effectively manage projects through the business

Candidate Profile

The minimum requirements for the role are as follows:

* Accredited University degree in Structural / Civil engineering. (MEng preferred, but BSc (Hons)/BEng (Hons) will also be considered)
* Comprehensive knowledge of regulations and design standards for the primary materials
* Experience of dealing directly with clients and other building professionals such as project managers and architects.
* Proficiency in the use of industry standard software such as Tekla; Masterseries and AutoCAD.
* Good experience and knowledge of the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004, including the Procedural Guidance on Certification and the information to be submitted with a Building Warrant Application.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The candidate should be working towards professional review with either ICE or IStructE.

It is expected that the suitable candidate for this role is likely to have 3 years post graduate experience.

The level and salary for the post will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience and abilities.

The package includes 30 days holiday rising to 35, company pension scheme and Life insurance.
