Join Nimble One's vision of next-gen robotics, we are looking for talented and passionate robotics engineers to take charge of operations on our first field engineering center in Nantes (Head office is in Toulouse) !

Seniority & profile :
From 6 years of professionnel experience in software engineering. With more than 4 years of applied knowledge in robotics.
Background skills would be a strong knowledge of robotics fundamentals : kinematics, dynamics, controls, estimation, computer vision.
Good software engineering experience : Modern C++ and OOP skills, as well as some experience with standard robotics tools will help (ROS, URDF, MuJoCo, Eigen, etc.)
Familiarity with software testing methodologies and version control (e.g., Git)
Basic mechanical & electronic skills to be able to maintain & debug Aru units using its standard maintenance elements.
Strong communication skills and familiarity with Agile processes (sprint planning, design/code reviews).
At Master/Engineering degree or PhD levels.

To be in proximity with several of our customers and R&D partners located in Nantes, we are creating our first field engineering center in Nantes. Your job would be to welcome the Aru units that we send to this center and to work with our local partners to implement and deploy the new features they need for Aru to perform its mission :
You would be a remote member of the application team, mostly located in Toulouse. In collaboration with the rest of your team and the integration team, you would take charge of deploying new features to those units. This also include maintaining and improving the units when they break or when new hardware modules are created for those units.
To be efficient on those operations, you would create and operate a real field engineering center alongside the integration & platform team with a mini workshop, test playgrounds, etc...
As our local field engineer, you would work alongside our customers & partners which are are developing tools & software to add on top of Aru. You would act as a bridge between them and the rest of the team as well as their expert on everything "Aru". This include robotic challenges related to perception, control, integration, etc... and hardware elements as we equipped Aru with the specialized tools for its missions.

Working remotely, away from the main team, is a very specific role, potentially mentally difficult. We will be looking for profiles that are used to this type of context. Experience working as a remote contractor would be a good parallel. Given this context, part of the intangible goals of your work would be to create a community with those local actors : our R&D partners, the teams of our customers we interact with.
Frequent trips to Toulouse will be the norms to ensure a good integration with the team.
