Technical Lead - Hybrid

An exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking company at the forefront of AI and Gen AI innovation in the sports and betting industry. We are seeking a Tech Lead to guide and grow a UK-based development team, shaping and delivering next-generation AI-powered products such as predictive analytics platforms, chatbots, and automated sports commentary systems.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of AI and LLM-based products, ensuring they meet standards for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Team Management: Mentor and manage a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.
Project Delivery: Collaborate with Product and Operations to define technical roadmaps, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality solutions.
AI & LLM Innovation: Stay abreast of developments in AI, LLMs, and machine learning, continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
Code & Architecture: Drive best practices in development, architecture, code quality, and DevOps.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business leadership to align technical strategy with business goals.
Hiring & Team Growth: Contribute to recruitment efforts and help scale the engineering function as the company grows.

Requirements
5+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering.
2+ years managing a technical team and delivering full project lifecycles.
Strong knowledge of LLMs, agents, and vector databases.
Proficient programming skills, ideally in Python.
Proven ability to drive innovation while aligning tech with business needs.
Experience in fast-paced, product-focused environments.
Passion or interest in sports or esports is a plus.
Degree (MS/PhD preferred) in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
