Full-Stack Java Developer – Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
As a Full-Stack Java Developer you will contribute to developing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable applications for EU institutions, ensuring high performance in an agile environment.
Your main duties will include:
Web Application Development:
Developing and maintaining web applications using Java and modern front-end frameworks.
RESTful API & Backend Services Optimization:
Designing and optimizing RESTful APIs to ensure efficient backend performance.
UI/UX Collaboration:
Working alongside designers to implement interactive, responsive applications.
Cross-functional Teamwork:
Collaborating closely with QA, DevOps, and Product Managers.
Clean, Maintainable Code Writing:
Ensuring code quality, maintainability, and testability.
Code Review & Performance Tuning:
Participating in code reviews, testing, and system optimization.
Issue Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving technical issues in different environments.
Technology Advancements:
Staying informed about emerging technologies and actively engaging in technical discussions.
Qualifications & Required Skills
To qualify for this role, candidates should have:
Mandatory Requirements
Education & Experience:
Master’s degree with 8+ years OR Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience in Java development.
Backend Development Expertise:
Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs.
Front-end Development Skills:
Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js.
Web Services Development:
Experience building and integrating REST & SOAP web services.
Database Management:
Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS 12c, SQL & NoSQL databases (OracleSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
Testing Frameworks:
Familiarity with XML, JUnit/Mockito for unit and integration testing.
Development Tools & CI/CD:
Proficiency with Maven/Gradle, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Problem-Solving Abilities:
Strong analytical mindset, capable of working independently or within a team.
Technical & Functional Support:
Experience in technical analysis, documentation, implementation, and integration.
Agile Methodologies:
Familiarity with Agile methodology, sprint planning, and iterative deliveries.
Language & Communication Skills:
Fluent English, with excellent communication skills.
Adaptability in an International Environment:
Ability to work in multicultural teams and institutional settings.
Nice to Have:
Containerization & Orchestration:
Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
Automated Testing Frameworks:
Knowledge of JUnit, Selenium, Cypress.
Agile/Scrum Experience:
Exposure to Scrum-based project methodologies.
