Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary Setting

Location: Sheffield

Start Date: After Easter Half Term

Pay Rates: £85 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Elevate Supply is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to work full-time in one of our partner secondary schools. This role will involve supporting students with additional learning needs and managing challenging behaviours, as well as taking on the responsibility of Cover Supervisor duties when needed. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in both student support and classroom management while making a positive impact on the students' educational and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher as a Cover Supervisor, ensuring students remain engaged in their learning.
Managing student behaviour, using positive strategies to maintain a productive and respectful classroom environment.
Supporting students with social and emotional development, helping them build positive relationships and improve their behaviour.
Assisting teachers and other staff in planning and delivering interventions that help students manage their emotions and improve their learning outcomes.
Using sports interventions to promote teamwork, confidence, and physical development where appropriate.
Collaborating with staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students and providing feedback to teachers and parents when necessary.

Candidate Qualities

Reliable, flexible, and adaptable, with the ability to manage various responsibilities in a fast-paced school environment.
Confident, approachable, and outgoing with excellent interpersonal skills.
Previous experience in supporting students with additional learning needs and managing challenging behaviours.
Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to handle situations calmly and professionally.
Enthusiastic about supporting students who need extra assistance in their academic and social development.
A background in sports or coaching is highly recommended.

Requirements

Enhanced DBS clearance, registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
Ability to provide two recent references.
Right to work in the UK, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
