argenx is a global immunology company committed to improving the lives of people suffering from severe autoimmune diseases and cancer. Partnering with leading academic researchers through its Immunology Innovation Program (IIP), argenx aims to translate immunology breakthroughs into a world-class portfolio of novel antibody-based medicines.

For the expansion of our lab team, argenx is looking for a lab technician (part-time 80%) for working out of the offices in Ghent (Belgium). Daily presence in the office is expected.

Responsibilities

The position will have amongst others the following key responsibilities:

In close collaboration with your team members and the lab responsible you will support the operations in the lab by:

Helping in the media kitchen: make buffers and mixtures needed in the lab, cleaning and sterilizing glasswork
Help on small operational tasks such as organizing samples, labeling them accurately, and recording on the system
Giving support in management of cell database
Being co-responsible for material orders and follow up
Being co-responsible for equipment preparation and maintenance

Profile

Higher secondary technical degree or equivalent, by preference chemistry oriented
Minimum of 2 years of relevant lab experience
Experience with administrative tasks
Can plan and execute a routine job without continuous supervision
Can work reliably, autonomously and accurately
Strong sense for quality and proper housekeeping
Excellent team player
Good communication skills in Dutch and English (both spoken and in written)
Good knowledge of office software (MSWord, MSExcel)
You are willing to work out of the Ghent office on a daily basis Working schedule 80%: Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday: full day, Thursday and Friday: afternoon
