We are hiring a Full Stack Developer to join a growing public sector delivery team working on high-impact services. This role is backend-heavy with a focus on delivering secure, scalable, and robust APIs and microservices, while also contributing to front-end implementation and DevOps best practices.
You'll be working within multidisciplinary teams alongside service designers, product owners, and other developers to deliver digital services that meet user needs and conform to public sector digital service standards.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain secure RESTful APIs and backend components using Python or Node.js
Support front-end delivery in React or another modern JavaScript framework as needed
Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., using Terraform, GitHub Actions)
Design and implement database schemas and queries (PostgreSQL or similar)
Build tests (unit, integration) and write clean, maintainable code
Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and agile ceremonies
Help ensure solutions align with government digital service standards (GDS)

Skills and Experience:
3+ years of experience as a full stack or backend engineer
Strong backend development experience using Python (Django/FastAPI) or Node.js (Express/NestJS)
Good understanding of REST API principles and web security
Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
Exposure to modern front-end frameworks (React preferred)
Understanding of CI/CD, version control (Git), and DevOps practices
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery in a team setting
