Job Role: Senior Backend Engineer
Location: London
Salary: £100,000 - £130,000 + Equity

Are you a Backend Engineer with experience scaling systems and owning backend architecture in fast-paced environments?

We’re hiring for a fast-growing AI start-up building a next-generation video intelligence platform. They’ve just closed a successful funding round and are expanding their engineering team - a group made up of experts with decades of experience from companies like Meta, Google, and Microsoft.

They’re looking for an experienced backend engineer who can scale their systems and help support huge user growth.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a start-up setting, wants to take on a wide technical scope, and enjoys solving problems.

What You'll Do:
Design and build scalable APIs, data pipelines, and backend systems.
Ensure backend systems are cost-effective, observable, and robust at scale.
Take end-to-end ownership of backend features, from design through to production.
Work closely with teams across front-end, machine learning, and edge computing.

What You’ll Bring:
5+ years of backend development experience.
Strong skills in either Go or Python.
Experience building and scaling APIs, data pipelines, and databases to multi-TB traffic levels.
Bonus if you’ve worked with:
- Pulumi or other infrastructure-as-code tools
- Grafana for monitoring
- Auth0 or similar authentication tools
A strong work ethic and the drive to solve tough technical challenges.
