Role Title: Cyber Security Engineer - Penetration & Vulnerability Testing
Client Details:
Oliver James has partnered with a leading distribution organisation with a strong market presence and significant investment in their IT security strategy. They are expanding their Cybersecurity team to enhance their vulnerability management and testing capabilities.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to contribute to strengthening the organisation's security posture through targeted vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, primarily focused on Microsoft Azure and associated technologies.
Description:
The Cyber Security Engineer will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities across the organisation's technology estate. You will lead regular vulnerability assessments, conduct penetration tests, and work collaboratively with IT teams to address risks and improve security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments across cloud and on-premises environments.
Focused security testing within Microsoft Azure environments and Microsoft enterprise technologies.
Assist with vulnerability management processes including scanning, reporting, and remediation guidance.
Work autonomously to manage and deliver annual security assessments across all business units.
Collaborate with wider IT and cyber teams to enhance security configurations and respond to findings.
Maintain accurate documentation of findings and recommend practical improvements.
Profile:
5+ years' experience in cyber security, with strong skills in vulnerability testing and penetration testing.
Expertise in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft technology stacks.
Comfortable working independently, managing own workload, and proactively identifying areas for improvement.
Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, and cloud security best practices.
Clear communication skills to convey technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Professional certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or AZ-500 are desirable but not essential.
Job Offer:
£50,000 per annum.
Permanent, fully remote role (working remotely across the UK only).
