Twenty8 is seeking an experienced Fullstack Developer to support a European Institution in Brussels.

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our dynamic team working on a cutting-edge AI-driven project. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, messaging systems such as Kafka, and database technologies like PostgreSQL or Oracle. Familiarity with Compass Corporate (EC Platform) is a significant plus.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of scalable, intelligent systems that power business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable fullstack solutions for AI-based applications
Build robust backend systems using Java and integrate with real-time data pipelines using Kafka
Develop APIs and microservices to support AI modules and frontend interfaces
Design and maintain relational databases (PostgreSQL or Oracle) ensuring performance and security
Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to integrate machine learning models
Contribute to frontend development and ensure seamless integration with backend components
Participate in architectural discussions and code reviews
Write clean, maintainable code and comprehensive technical documentation

Requirements
Education: University degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of fullstack development experience with a strong focus on Java-based backend systems.
Language Skills: C1 level of English (spoken and written).
Solid experience with Kafka for event streaming and real-time data processing
Proficiency in working with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle databases
Understanding of frontend technologies (e.g., JavaScript frameworks) is a plus
Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to work in an agile and collaborative team environment
