FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Cheshire or Edinburgh.
Our client is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to design, implement, and optimise technology solutions that address complex business challenges. This role demands a skilled problem-solver with a strong technical background in Microsoft technologies and a passion for delivering impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Design and develop innovative solutions using Microsoft technologies (e.g., Azure, .NET, Power Platform, Microsoft 365) to meet business requirements
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions
Act as a technical expert, providing guidance and troubleshooting support to ensure the success of solution implementation
Optimise the performance and scalability of solutions through proactive testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement
Contribute to the development of technical standards, best practices, and documentation
Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes
Support integration efforts and ensure seamless interaction between systems, applications, and third-party tools
Mentor junior engineers and support their technical growth
Requirements
Strong experience in designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft technologies (Azure, .NET framework, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform)
Proficiency in cloud computing, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipeline implementation
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse and address complex technical issues
Proven track record in working within agile and collaborative development environments
Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory considerations in solution design
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Background in pensions or relevant industries
Experience with data integration, analytics, and business intelligence solutions
Certification in Microsoft technologies, such as Azure Developer Associate or similar
