We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Database Engineer - SAP/Sybase Specialist to join our client's team in London, UK. Who You Will Work With:
Our client is a globally recognized technology company delivering IT services, consulting, and business solutions. They partner with leading organizations worldwide to drive digital transformation, leveraging innovation and deep industry expertise to solve complex business challenges.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement SAP/Sybase ASE and Replication Server infrastructure solutions
Create and maintain shell scripts and T-SQL code for automation and management tasks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement database security best practices
Document technical solutions for both specialist and non-specialist audiences
Contribute to continuous improvement of database infrastructure

Mandatory Skills
Extensive experience with SAP/Sybase ASE 16
Proven expertise with SAP/Sybase Replication Server 16
Strong SAP/Sybase T-SQL development skills
Strong shell scripting (bash or ksh) skills
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8
Fluent spoken and written English

Highly Desirable Skills
Experience with SAP/Sybase ASE 15.7
Experience with SAP/Sybase Replication Server 15.7
Experience with RHEL 7 and Solaris 10
Python 3.9+ programming skills
Have previously implemented SAP/Sybase ASE 16.0 full-database encryption
(note: NOT column encryption)
Experience configuring external HSM keystores for ASE 16 encryption keys

Nice To Have
Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines
Ansible for infrastructure automation
SRE experience with focus on automation to reduce toil
DevOps practices using git for source control
Technical writing for specialist audiences
Technical writing for non-specialist technical audiences
Vendor certifications in any of the technologies mentioned in any section
