Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the end-to-end payroll process for our managed house employees focusing on:
Payroll – ensuring accurate payrolls are processed on a weekly, 2 weekly, 4 weekly basis for our hourly paid employees and monthly and 4 weekly for our salaried employees.
Customer service/Query management – deliver excellent customer service, dealing with queries from employees in a timely efficient manner.
The role holder must ensure each key responsibility is completed to strict deadlines whilst identifying and evaluating opportunities to streamline and improve existing processes.
Expenses – processing expense claims and reporting using Selima/Coda system for salaried staff.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The role demands a bright, methodical, well organised person with substantial payroll experience.
Knowledge and experience of payroll systems.
To assist with the operating of the payroll for our managed house and Group employees, across multiple PAYE references and across weekly, 2 Weekly, 4 weekly and monthly payrolls for c.16,000 employees.
Checking accuracy of data received.
To create and process statutory documents where applicable, to include annual P11ds, P45s, P60s, etc.
To build and develop good working relationships to ensure we deliver excellent customer service to our stakeholders.
To deal with all queries from employees regarding their pay and benefits.
To keep up to date with changes in payroll and employee legislation.
To continually challenge our ways of working to improve efficiency where possible.
Other ad hoc work as required by the Payroll Manager and within the wider Accounts team.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the following areas:
Previous payroll experience, ideally in the pub or wider hospitality sector
Knowledge of PAYE Statutory Information
Very competent in Excel and Outlook
Good interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to:
Support and guide Regional Managers, General Managers, HR, etc. as appropriate
Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to
Enforce deadlines
