Role Overview
As an Independent Consultant at TASL.ai, you will partner with small and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) to help them plan and deploy AI and automation solutions. You’ll remain self‑employed, representing the TASL.ai brand while owning your engagement, deliverables, and professional development. You don’t need the knowledge to build AI models from scratch—what matters is your ability to understand AI use cases, guide strategy, and work closely with technical teams to drive value.
Key Responsibilities
Client Workshops & Strategy
– Lead discovery sessions to identify business challenges and AI/automation opportunities
– Develop pragmatic roadmaps and success criteria for AI pilots and automation initiatives
– Advise on best practices, vendor selection, and integration approaches
Solution Planning & Governance
– Translate client needs into high‑level architectures and data requirements
– Ensure governance, compliance (GDPR, FCA as applicable) and ethical AI principles are baked into designs
– Prepare business cases, ROI analyses and risk assessments for board‑level review
Coordination with Delivery Teams
– Partner with TASL.ai’s technical experts to scope, resource and schedule build activities
– Monitor progress against milestones, manage stakeholder communications and change control
– Validate deliverables and ensure they meet both client expectations and internal quality standards
Stakeholder Management & Sales Enablement
– Represent TASL.ai at client meetings, industry events and user groups
– Contribute to proposals and help qualify new leads through your network
– Capture client feedback and identify upsell or extension opportunities
Self‑Management & Administration
– Invoice clients directly, manage your own taxes, insurances and IR35 status
– Maintain timesheets and expense records via TASL.ai’s contractor portal
– Keep your knowledge current on AI trends, tooling and best practices

Skills & Experience
Consulting Background: 3–5+ years as an independent consultant or within a consultancy environment, with exposure to technology or AI projects
AI & Automation Acumen: Solid understanding of AI use cases (e.g., NLP, predictive analytics, process automation) and ecosystem players; hands‑on build skills are not required
Strategic & Commercial Mindset: Ability to craft compelling business cases and manage project budgets
Communication & Influence: Strong presentation skills and confidence engaging C‑suite and technical stakeholders
Organisational Excellence: Self‑driven, structured approach to multi‑project delivery
Qualifications: Degree or professional certification (e.g., Prince2, PMI‑ACP, AI‑related certificate)
Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with UK compliance frameworks and IR35 considerations
Commercial & IR35 Status
Daily Rate: £500–£750 per day (dependent on expertise)
IR35: Outside IR35—consultant is responsible for own tax and National Insurance
Invoicing: Monthly via TASL.ai’s approved contractor portal
Benefits: As a self‑employed consultant, you manage your own pension, leave and insurances
