Freelance Site Engineer – Immediate Start – Kelso, Scotland

Location: Kelso, Scottish Borders

Contract Length: 12 months

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: £300 per day

Sector: Civil Engineering

Our client, a reputable and well-established civil engineering contractor, is urgently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join their team on a major substation project in Kelso, Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

Accurate setting out for all civil works on site
Conducting and overseeing QA procedures and maintaining all necessary records
Providing guidance and support to a junior engineer, helping to develop their technical and on-site skills

Requirements

Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on civil infrastructure projects (ideally substations or energy sector)
Proficient with setting out equipment (e.g. GPS, Total Station)
Strong understanding of QA procedures and documentation
Ability to mentor and work collaboratively with junior staff
CSCS card
