Night Support Worker – Young People

This is an exciting opportunity for a Night Support Worker to work as part of a team covering the night shift hours delivering an assessment, support and move on service to vulnerable clients in homelessness accommodation. You will be working in a new project, where all clients will be 16-25 years old and will have complex needs.

Position: Night Young People Support Worker

Location: Brixton, London

Contract: Full Time, 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

Hours: 37.5 hours a week

Salary: £ 27,636 Per Annum Plus Pension & Other Benefits

About The Role

As a Night Support Worker, you will work under the direction, guidance and support of the service manager. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive environment, covering a number of core work activities and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients, volunteers and staff in the service at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure a safe environment through regular risk assessments, health and safety checks, and reporting
Safeguard client wellbeing at all times, using appropriate safeguarding and emergency procedures
Work collaboratively with external agencies and statutory teams, adhering to data protection and information-sharing protocols
Prepare accommodation for new clients and support them in settling in
Participate in relevant training and attend team meetings to support your development and contribute to service delivery
Liaise with internal departments (e.g. Finance, HR, Fundraising) to help ensure smooth service operations.
Carry out other duties as required, in line with policies and your manager’s direction

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

Experience of working in a busy support or care environment
Experience of working with non-UK nationals or those who have experienced homelessness
Experience of using Risk Assessments and Support Planning
Experience of operating safeguarding requirements and procedures
The ability to lone-work and being pro-active
Commitment to working in a manner, which promotes diversity and equality ensuring that everyone is treated with respect and dignity and no one, suffers from discrimination.
Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others.
Personal and professional integrity
High level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain boundaries
