The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-caliber individual to join our early-stage Product team as AI Prototyping and Development Principal. In this foundational role, you will work directly with the co-founders, Jorge Cárdenas Prieto and Lennart Baumgärtner, helping shape and execute Vallorii’s product vision.
This is a high-ownership role where you will define your own workstreams drive innovation, and translate technical capabilities into strategic impact. As Vallorii scales, your role will naturally evolve into a core leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
1. AI Development and Prototyping
Rapidly design, build, and iterate machine learning models and generative AI features aligned with Vallorii’s infrastructure valuation platform.
Translate traditional and advanced financial models (e.g., CAPM, multifactor models, real-option theory, reinforcement learning) into user-facing prototypes and tools.
Collaborate with developers and UI/UX designers to integrate AI models into a scalable and user-friendly product.
2. Strategic Product Execution
Support the refinement of Vallorii’s product vision and ensure alignment with the company’s mission and user feedback.
Maintain a proactive understanding of trends in LLMs, NLP, and ML to ensure our toolset remains state-of-the-art and practically impactful.
Advise on AI architecture to ensure robustness, transparency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Research and Advisory colleagues to translate client needs and research insights into intelligent product features.
Cooperate effectively with peers across units, fostering an environment of transparency and collaborative problem-solving.
4. Ownership and Value Creation
Operate with high autonomy, defining your own workstreams and priorities based on strategic objectives.
Focus on value generation and tangible outcomes that support Vallorii’s early-stage growth and product-market fit.
Skills & Experience
Required
A postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Econometrics.
3+ years of experience in AI/ML prototyping, particularly in startups, consultancy, or product-heavy environments.
Strong track record in building real-world AI applications, ideally using LLMs, NLP, or decision intelligence frameworks.
Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with API-based data integration
Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to balance strategic objectives with technical execution.
Demonstrated ability to self-direct, take full ownership of complex tasks, and drive them to completion.
Desirable
Deep understanding of infrastructure finance, cost of capital modeling, or regulatory economics is desirable but not essential.
Experience in advisory, consultancy, or early-stage product environments.
Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and MLOps best practices, and HTML or Typescript for prototyping is a plus.
An understanding of ESG integration, regulatory impact modeling, or economic scenario planning.
