Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Greenwich

Contract Type: Long-Term Supply

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?

We're seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Greenwich. This dual-role position involves both classroom support for pupils with additional needs and supervising children during lunch breaks.

Your Key Responsibilities

Provide dedicated classroom and one-on-one support to pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN).
Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes independence and confidence.
Assist with physical activities, including PE and swimming, as needed.
Help manage behaviour using calm, consistent, and positive approaches.
Supervise pupils during lunch and playtimes, promoting safe and inclusive interaction.

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, etc.) is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, flexible, and proactive approach.
Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
A team player with a strong sense of initiative and compassion.

Additional Information

This role involves daily contact with children. An Enhanced DBS check is required.
All applicants will be subject to health, reference, and safeguarding checks.
The post is long-term supply with potential for permanency.
