Critical Infrastructure Project Manager - Data Center Retrofit Project - France - Freelance

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead a critical infrastructure retrofit project within a live data center environment in France.

This is a challenging and detail-oriented role involving the replacement and renewal of essential infrastructure, including BMS elements, electrical infrastructure, and switchboard replacements, across the entire facility. This project demands meticulous planning, strong technical understanding, and the ability to manage commissioning and testing in a live setting with minimal disruption.

Contract: 4 month initial contract with option to extend to 6 months and potentially further thereafter.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all aspects of the critical infrastructure retrofit project within a live data center.
Oversee the replacement and renewal of BMS elements, electrical infrastructure, switchboards, and other critical systems.
Develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
Manage and coordinate with various stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Oversee commissioning and testing procedures to ensure successful implementation.
Track project finances and negotiate effectively.
Apply a structured and patient approach to planning and execution, with a strong focus on detail.

Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a Project Manager in critical infrastructure projects, ideally within data centers.
Strong technical background in mechanical or electrical engineering (advantageous).
Experience managing projects in live, operational environments.
Proven ability in project management and finance tracking/negotiation.
Understanding of turnkey projects and managing within grey space.
Fluent in French (native or near-native).
Strong command of English
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills:
PMP certification (highly regarded).
